Along secondary roads (paved and unpaved) passing through shepherds' properties, we will reach the highest point of the tour to enjoy breathtaking views of the Gulf of Alghero. We will then venture through cork oak forests, where you will learn how cork is produced in Sardinia. After a short and steep climb, we will arrive at a Nuragic village. The expertly crafted stones from the Nuragic civilization will unveil the story of a unique culture in the Mediterranean region. This civilization emerged from various peoples and cultures that lived on the island since the ancient Neolithic era. Although numerous archaeological finds are scattered throughout the island, some mysteries remain unsolved. It's an intriguing heritage that will connect you to the ancestors of the Sardinians and deepen your understanding of the island's culture. Continue the journey and be treated to more panoramic views of a stunning coastal stretch to find yourself beneath the wings of griffon vultures (Gyps fulvus). With a bit of luck and favorable wind conditions, see these majestic birds, which have a wingspan of nearly 3 meters, soaring above you. The griffon vulture is the most social of vulture species and plays a critical role in the ecosystem. In Sardinia, it is protected by various research and conservation projects, as the Sardinian population is the only natural colony in Italy.
