What customers say
The guides were fantastic, the tour itself really interesting & beautifully scenic, with a delicious aperitif. Just be mindful that there's no air-conditioning in the jeeps, so a bit tough during a heatwave but would 100% recommend
excellent tour. I would not hesitate to recommend. our guides were friendly and extremely knowledgeable. it was wonderful to see the interior of the island which is stunning. the Nuragic village was fascinating and seeing the Griffin vulture was very special. topped off with a lovely picnic of local cheese. sausages and wine. loved it.

Full description
Embark on a 5-hour off-road adventure from Alghero to a nature area rich in habitats and animal species of conservation interest. We will enjoy panoramic views of the city and the surrounding countryside while learning about the cultural differences between the Catalan city of Alghero and the rest of the island. At 350 meters of elevation, we will leave the coastal area to admire the stunning landscape of the hinterland. Throughout the journey, we can spot semi-wild animals such as Sardinian Anglo-Arab horses, Limousin cattle, and Sardinian sheep, as well as birds of prey like the little owl. Encounters with nocturnal animals such as wild boars, foxes, or weasels are rare. We will stop to observe some of the most important plants found in Mediterranean scrub and their traditional uses in Sardinia. Along secondary roads (paved and unpaved) passing through shepherds' properties, we will reach the highest point of the tour to enjoy breathtaking views of the Gulf of Alghero. We will then venture through cork oak forests, where you will learn how cork is produced in Sardinia. After a short and steep climb, we will arrive at a Nuragic village. The expertly crafted stones from the Nuragic civilization will unveil the story of a unique culture in the Mediterranean region. This civilization emerged from various peoples and cultures that lived on the island since the ancient Neolithic era. Although numerous archaeological finds are scattered throughout the island, some mysteries remain unsolved. It's an intriguing heritage that will connect you to the ancestors of the Sardinians and deepen your understanding of the island's culture. Continue the journey and be treated to more panoramic views of a stunning coastal stretch to find yourself beneath the wings of griffon vultures (Gyps fulvus). With a bit of luck and favorable wind conditions, see these majestic birds, which have a wingspan of nearly 3 meters, soaring above you. The griffon vulture is the most social of vulture species and plays a critical role in the ecosystem. In Sardinia, it is protected by various research and conservation projects, as the Sardinian population is the only natural colony in Italy. Share insights into their lives and the efforts made to protect them. End the tour with a delightful aperitif. With a relaxing view of the sea, sample Sardinian products such as pecorino cheese, carasau and guttiau bread, sausage, and local white and red wines. Close the experience with a taste of the island’s traditional liqueur: Sardinian red myrtle. On the return to Alghero, you have more opportunities to enjoy panoramic views of the city and the beautiful surrounding sea.
