Grotta delle Brocche Rotte wasn’t always well known, and only visited by those trekking towards Cabirol via ferrrata. In recent years, it became one of the “Instagrammed’ places. From inside the cave, it’s possible to take photos that show the Capo Caccia cliffs and an amazing panorama. The Cave of the Broken Vases offers a breathtaking panorama that stretches from the Foradada island and the cliffs over the Cala d’Inferno sea to the Bay of Porto Conte, Punta Giglio and Monte Doglia, all with the city of Alghero and Monte Doglia in the distance.
It is named after the ceramics found in the cave. It doesn’t offer much else besides the spectacular view. Interior measures a few metres in length, and even less width. The ceiling at the entrance is a couple meters high. As you move forward the slope of the ceiling increases. The entrance is marked with a steel plate that reads Autonomous Region of Sardinia – Sardinian Speleological Federation – cave ndeg0334 Regional Speleological Cadastre.
