The next 10th of January 2025 at 8.30pm Àngel Maresca will present the new album, Retrobament, at the Teatre Cívic Gaví Ballero de l’Alguer. Barber will be accompanied by Claudio Gabriel Sanna (guitar and mandola), Paolo Zuddas (percussions), Dario Pinna (violí), Salvador Maltana (contrabaix) and Josep M. Cols (piano and accordion) in this concert.
Àngel Maresca (l’Alguer, Sardenya, 1944) is a singer-songwriter, singer of the Alguer guitarist, specializing in traditional music. Lo Barber has always been an activist for the language and popular culture, of the més actius of the Catalan city of Sardinia.
In 2024, to celebrate 80 years, we have united our forces with the singer-songwriter, musician and composer Claudio Gabriel Sanna. As part of their usual training, they recorded a disc containing the Barber’s greatest songs. Retrobament is a treball discogràfic that is homage to the historical retrobament of the Catalan Alguerite society of the 1960s. Songs of love, of the sea, stories of characters related to Alguera culture, as well as treball songs that come to touch on themes socials, com for example “Aquesta és la campanya”.
The concert is organized by the Platform for Language, the Cultural Work of Alguer and the Offices of Alguer of the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia in Italy, including the support of the Alghero Foundation. Entrance is free.
